SRH scored the highest total in the history of the IPL, scoring 277 for 3. Mumbai did win the toss, but it was the Sunrisers who won the first inning with the bat. Australian World Cup champion Travis Head (62 off 24) started off from the very first ball, followed by Abhishek Sharma (63 off 23), who destroyed every bowler left, right, and centre.

But it was not the end of Mumbai’s nightmare. Aiden Markram (42*) and Heinrich Klaasen (80*) kept charging at the bowlers to not only bring a massive total but to bring the highest total ever in the history of the IPL. It was havoc for the men in blue, as every bowler except Jasprit Bumrah had an economy rate of two figures. Not only this, but the MI bowlers also conceded 19 extras with the ball.

There were some tremendous other records made by SRH batters. Abhishek Sharma scored the fastest fifty for SRH in just 16 balls, followed by Head scoring his debut fifty in just 17 balls. Klaasen also supassed Kohli to grab the orange cap as the leading run scorer in the Tata IPL 2024.

The Mumbai Indians have to do some magic with the bat to chase this massive total against SRH’s strategic bowling figures.
