Gujarat Titans (GT) pacer Kagiso Rabada has withdrawn from the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season and returned to South Africa for personal reasons, the franchise confirmed on Thursday, April 3. The team has not announced a timeline for his return.

In a brief statement, GT said, “Kagiso Rabada has returned to South Africa to deal with an important personal matter.”

Rabada, who was bought by GT for ₹10.75 crore in the previous auction, featured in two matches this season—picking up 1/41 against Punjab Kings and 1/42 versus Mumbai Indians. He was notably absent in GT’s recent win over Royal Challengers Bengaluru, where Arshad Khan filled in and impressed by removing Virat Kohli early in the innings.

The 29-year-old speedster has played 82 IPL matches overall, taking 119 wickets at an average of 22.29 and an economy of 8.53.

Gujarat Titans still have a strong pace arsenal, including Mohammed Siraj, Prasidh Krishna, and Gerald Coetzee, as they prepare to face Sunrisers Hyderabad in their next game on Sunday.
