James Anderson takes over Anil Kumble to become 3rd highest wicket-taker in Test cricket

England frontline fast bowler James Anderson became the 3rd highest wicket-taker in Test surpassing Indian legend Anil Kumble. He took Rahul’s wicket to get this mark.

England Frontline pacer set another milestone under his name during the 1st innings of India tour of England. Rahul was playing a marvellous knock with 84 runs after facing 213 deliveries but unfortunately, the ball pitched up with an angle but a thin edge was caught by Buttler and Anderson with his class grabbed this milestone.

Anil Kumble was holding the record of 619 wickets when he took his last wicket of Mitchell Johnson at his favourite ground Feroz Shah Kotla (now Arun Jaitely Stadium) in November 2008.

Muttiah Muralitharan of Sri Lanka have the top slot with the highest 800 wickets in 133 matches under his name followed by Shane Warne of Australia with 708 wickets in 145 matches and now James Anderson has the third spot with 620 wickets in 163 matches.

Jimmy’s scorecard stands as 23-8-54-4 and his 3rd wicket was the one that broke the record. The 39 years old is setting great landmarks as being the only fast bowler to grab the space in the top 3 highest wicket-takers in Test.
