After India lost miserably against South Africa in a three-match ODI series by 0-3. Indian head coach, Rahul Dravid regrets the absence of India’s top all-rounder and No. 6 batter who can save the team from losing, Hardik Pandya.
Hardik was India’s mainstay option in the middle order and an outstanding No. 6 bowler for years, supporting India with the balance across formats. But the issue with a back injury saw Hardik in and out of the side, before making the team only as a batter. In the T20 World cup 2021, Hardik was dropped eventually from the squad with India finding a replacement option in vain.
When Hardik spoke to Boria Majumdar, an Indian Journalist backstage, he reveals that he is preparing himself for the role and that remains his major focus.
The 28-year-old said that he plans to play as an all-rounder. He believes that if something goes wrong then he doesn’t know but his preparation and focus are all about playing as an all-rounder. Hardik further spoke about his injury that he is feeling better now and eventually the time will tell what will happen.
Hardik’s return as an all-rounder will be seen in the upcoming season of IPL where he has been chosen as the captain of the Ahmedabad franchise and was picked for Rs 15 crore.
This is going to be Hardik’s second franchise in IPL before he used to play for Mumbai Indians. He has won the tournament four times with Mumbai Indians in 2015, 2017, 2019, 2020.
