Team India has once again etched its name in cricket history, securing its third ICC Champions Trophy title with a four-wicket victory over New Zealand in the final at the Dubai International Stadium. With this win, India now boasts eight ICC trophies, further cementing its legacy as one of the most successful teams in world cricket.
Chasing 252 for victory, captain Rohit Sharma led from the front with a well-compiled 76, while Shreyas Iyer (48) and KL Rahul (34) provided crucial contributions. The finishing touch, fittingly, came from Ravindra Jadeja, who struck the winning boundary, sealing India’s second ICC title in consecutive years following their 2024 T20 World Cup triumph.
Earlier, New Zealand posted 251 on the board, with Daryl Mitchell and Michael Bracewell making key contributions. India’s bowlers, led by Jasprit Bumrah and Kuldeep Yadav, kept the Kiwis in check, setting up a manageable chase.
This victory places India among the elite in terms of ICC silverware. The latest standings of the most ICC trophies won by teams are as follows:

Rohit Sharma, who was named Player of the Match, has now led India to two consecutive ICC finals, having guided the team to the 2023 ODI World Cup final as well.
