The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Tuesday announced Team India’s squad for the Asia Cup 2025, ending weeks of speculation around the final 15.
India’s Asia Cup 2025 squad:

Jasprit Bumrah
-
Arshdeep Singh
-
Varun Chakaravarthy
-
Kuldeep Yadav
-
Sanju Samson (WK)
-

-
Rinku Singh
The announcement came after a selection meeting in Mumbai, attended by BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia and Indian T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav. The press conference, delayed by heavy rains in Mumbai, finally took place at 2:45 PM.
The absence of Shreyas Iyer was one of the biggest surprises, with selectors preferring the in-form Rinku Singh and Tilak Varma in the middle order. Shubman Gill has been rewarded with the vice-captaincy after his strong run of form, while youngsters Abhishek Sharma and Harshit Rana find a place in the squad.
Veteran all-rounders Hardik Pandya and Axar Patel return to strengthen the middle order, while Jasprit Bumrah will spearhead the pace attack alongside Arshdeep Singh. The spin department will be handled by Kuldeep Yadav and Varun Chakaravarthy, while wicketkeeping duties will be shared between Jitesh Sharma and Sanju Samson.
The Asia Cup 2025 will serve as a key preparatory tournament ahead of the ICC Champions Trophy next year, with India aiming to test its younger core while balancing experience.
