The England Cricket Board has named a 16-men squad and six travelling reserves for the upcoming two Tests against India. The men will travel to India after the series against Sri Lanka ends on 26th January.

The first Test of the series starts on February 5, Friday at MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai.

England Men’s Squad:

Joe Root (Yorkshire) (captain), Jofra Archer (Sussex), Moeen Ali (Worcestershire), James Anderson (Lancashire), Dom Bess (Yorkshire), Stuart Broad (Nottinghamshire), Rory Burns (Surrey), Jos Buttler (Lancashire), Zak Crawley (Kent), Ben Foakes (Surrey), Dan Lawrence (Essex), Jack Leach (Somerset), Dom Sibley (Warwickshire), Ben Stokes (Durham), Olly Stone (Warwickshire), Chris Woakes (Warwickshire).

Reserves:

James Bracey (Gloucestershire), Mason Crane (Hampshire), Saqib Mahmood (Lancashire), Matthew Parkinson (Lancashire), Ollie Robinson (Sussex), Amar Virdi (Surrey).

Archer, Stokes and Burnes make their comeback. Archer and Stokes were rested for the Sri Lanka series while Burnes was on paternity leave. Pope, recovering from a shoulder injury is also making his return to the squad.

The National Selectors have rested Jonathan Bairstow, Sam Curran and Mark Wood.
