An initiative by the ICC and UNICEF to bring together one billion fans during the ICC ODI World Cup through their One Day 4 Children campaign In partnership with BCCI and Sri Lanka Cricket, the campaign will take place on November 2 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. The initiative is to send a message of hope and support for every child to survive and thrive. To build a world that is better for every child and create equal opportunities for all.
The huge spectating crowd at the Wankhede stadium will be given an LED wristband, which will be synced with the stadium’s blue light show during the second inning. Players from both teams will support the campaign, along with the ICC Ambassadors, Sachin Tendulkar and Muttiah Muralitharan.
Tendulkar on the One Day, 4 Children Campaign
The God of Cricket and ICC Ambassador Sachin Tendulkar expressed how he also dreamed big as a child and ensured that every cricketer playing for their country must have too. He is happy to join hands with UNICEF and is excited to see his home ground turn blue as the campaign goes on for the welfare of children.
