Aakash Chopra who is an Indian cricket commentator and former cricketer who played for the Indian cricket team from late 2003 until late 2004 as a defensive opening batsman and close catcher in Test matches.

One of the many openers tried by India to balance out the charisma of one Virender Sehwag at the other end, Aakash Chopra was a classical opener. The baits batsman sent in to play out the new ball and dead-beat the shine off it to make life easier for the emperors of batting in the middle-order.

The stoic opener was also signed by the Kolkata Knight Riders in the inaugural IPL of 2008. After failing to perform with the bat in a youth-dominated league, Chopra figured that this wasn’t his cup of tea, and retired from all forms of cricket. He is now a well-known critic, commentator, and author as he continues to spread his knowledge of the game.

Mumbai’s Wankhede stadiums North Stand Gang Wished Chopra by tweeting a special message “#NSGRemembers when India were desperately seeking for an opener we found Aakash Chopra who had a technique perfectly suited to occupation of the crease & seeing the shine off the leather. He was kind to meet up with us in Pune and we gifted him our Tshirt & he signed one as well.”

Aakash Chopra will be a part of the Dream11 IPL 2020 Hindi commentary panel on Star Sports at 7:30 pm IST and will also do Hindi commentary for tonight’s Mumbai Indians Vs Chennai Super Kings.
