The change in captaincy for the Mumbai Indians has ignited a wave of protest from the fans, who eagerly want to see Rohit Sharma lead the side. Hitman, who led the Mumbai Indians to lift the IPL cup on several occasions, has been replaced by his subordinate, Hardik Pandya.
Hardik Pandya was bought back from the Gujarat Titans by MI in an exchange treaty. Fans who were excited to see Pandya back in Mumbai quickly changed to hatred as he took over Sharma’s captaincy.
Fans were outraged so badly that some even burned the flag of the Mumbai Indians, stating that the most loved IPL franchise would become the most hated franchise in 2023.
It is clear that the MI fans wants Rohit back as their captain and why not when the Hitman has proved the legacy of staying at the top of the IPL chart with the most number of cups.
