Dream11, the popular fantasy gaming platform, is poised to become the new jersey sponsor for the Indian cricket team. After the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) floated a tender, Dream11 has reportedly secured the sponsorship.
This comes after Byju’s, the previous sponsor, terminated their contract in March, leaving the Indian team without a jersey sponsor.
In the absence of a sponsor, the team wore new jerseys provided by Adidas during the recent World Test Championship final. Under the previous deal with Byju’s, the BCCI earned approximately Rs 5.5 crore for bilateral fixtures and Rs 1.7 crore for ICC games.
While the specific details of the Dream11 deal remain undisclosed, it is expected to be a lesser value compared to the previous sponsorship.
