Pakistan Cricket Board has sacked Ramiz Raja from the chairman role a day after team Pakistan suffered an embarrassing loss to England at home. England took away the series win with a clean sweep.

Raja will be replaced by Sethi, who has previously served as the head of PCB in multiple positions between 2003 and 2018. He was also the first chairman of the Pakistan Super League, overseeing its formation in 2016. His committee will now have a four-month period in which to restore the PCB constitution to its 2014 version.

The newly appointed chairman Najam Sethi stated that the 2014 PCB constitution stands restored and also promised that thousands of cricketers will be employed again. Najam Sethi also said that “the famine in cricket will come to an end”.

“The cricket regime headed by Ramiz Raja is no more. The 2014 PCB constitution stands restored. The Management Committee will work tirelessly to revive first class cricket. Thousands of cricketers will be employed again. The famine in cricket will come to an end,” tweeted newly appointed chairman Najam Sethi.
