The Board for Cricket Control in India (BCCI) has issued a notification inviting applications for a member of the Men’s Selection Committee. The official announcement was made on the BCCI’s website and shared across various social media platforms. Interested candidates can submit their applications until June 30, following which the selected individuals will undergo an interview process.

To be eligible for the position, candidates must meet the following criteria:

– Played a minimum of:
a) 7 Test Matches,
b) 30 First-Class Matches, or
c) 10 One Day International Matches and 20 First-Class Matches.

– Retired from professional cricket at least 5 years ago.

Candidates who have been members of any Cricket Committee for a cumulative period of 5 years, as defined in the Memorandum of Association and Rules and Regulations of the BCCI, are not eligible for the role.

The primary responsibilities of the selected candidates will include:

– Selecting the team in a fair and transparent manner.

– Developing a strong bench strength for the Senior National team.

– Attending team meetings as required.

– Travelling to observe Domestic and International matches.

– Providing evaluation reports on team performances to the BCCI’s Apex Council on a quarterly basis.

– Addressing the media regarding team selection when instructed by the BCCI.

– Appointing the team captain for each format.

– Adhering to the rules and regulations set by the BCCI.
