Australian veteran and spin king Shane Warne was honoured moments before the Boxing Day Test between Australia and South Africa took place.
Legendary icon Shane Warne was remember as the cricket fraternity along with thousands of fans, wore the famous ‘white floppy hat’ to honour the favourite of all – Warne.
Today’s second Test is the first in Melbourne since Warne’s shock passing in March.
During the playing of the national anthem, players from Australia and South Africa wore white floppy hats to honour Warne as a video montage of the legendary Victorian player was shown on the screen.
Thousands of fans arrived at the MCG this morning wearing the iconic hats, many of whom paid respects to Warne at his statue outside the renowned stadium.
