One selection that surprised several when India played Pakistan was the exclusion of Rishabh Pant from the playing XI and the selection of Dinesh Karthik as the team’s wicketkeeper batter. Karthik was chosen over Pant for reasons that are only known to the team management and captain Rohit Sharma, but Pant can definitely get the chance to bat ahead of one of the top order hitters against Hong Kong.

A reporter may have questioned Ravindra Jadeja during a news conference why Pant did not play against Pakistan, to which the India all-rounder had a pretty peculiar response.

“I absolutely don’t know this. This is a question out of my book,” said Jadeja.
