The super four round of the 2022 Asia Cup will feature the classical match between Pakistan and India. On September 4 (Sunday), India and Pakistan will square off at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in the United Arab Emirates for the second time in this tournament.

Babar Azam leads Pakistan in the Asia Cup 2022, while Rohit Sharma captains India. India advanced to the super four round by defeating Pakistan and Hong Kong in the group round. Pakistan overcame Hong Kong but lost to India.

Skipper Babar Azam won the toss and decided to field first and also revealed the reason behind his decision.

Babar stated that the dew factor at the iconic Dubai International Stadium might affect the bowling and fielding during the second innings which is the reason why the greens felt secured in bowling first.

Babar Azam – We will bowl first. The dew could be a factor, that’s the reason we’re bowling first. We had a lot of positives from the last match against India. The message is to play positively – one change for us with Hasnain coming in (cricbuzz)

Indian skipper Rohit Sharma too wanted to field first but thinks that their focus will now be shifted to bat freely in the first innings.

Rohit Sharma – We would have bowled first, but now we need to play freely and assess a good score on this pitch. Momentum counts in this format, you’ve to be on the money from the start, not worry about external pressures. Injury is something we can’t control, Jadeja has been ruled out and he’s back home. It was a headache to select the playing XI – Hardik comes back. Deepak Hooda gets a game and so does Ravi Bishnoi. (cricbuzz)
