The Ashes 2023 starts with England choosing to bat first in the epic encounter against Australia. Zak Crawley, who was named in the 15-man squad in place of Ben Foakes gives an outstanding start to his team with his fifty against the WTC champions. He is giving the Australian team a tough time with his batting skills.
The opener batter doesn’t have good stats from the time Ben Stokes took over the captaincy. In the 23 innings he has played, he only has two half-centuries and one century with eleven single-digit scores. Having the back and trust of his captain Ben Stokes and head Coach Brendon McCullum he was chosen as the opener for the epic clash and stood on their confidence by smashing a magnificent fifty for his team in the first session.
