The IPL 2020 will be held in UAE across three cities- Dubai, Sharjah and Abu Dhabi. The tournament will commence on September 19 and will see a total of 56 matches.
The auctions for the IPL auction were completed in December 2019. But a few cricketers have now opted out of the tournament because of personal issues.
Here is a list of 5 players who will miss at IPL 2020-
Suresh Raina
Suresh Raina had travelled to UAE along with his CSK squad but came back to India within a week. A few robbers attacked his relatives at their home in Pathankot on 20 August. Due to this robbery, his uncle died on the spot while his cousin succumbed to injuries. Disturbed by the incident, Raina chose to return back to India. However the CSK management is hopeful that he will join the team in the latter half of the tournament.

Kane Richardson
Australian cricketer Kane Richardson opted out of the tournament so that he can be with his wife for the birth of his first child. Richardson was bought by Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the IPL auction for Rs. 4 crore. Adam Zampa has now been named as his replacement.

Harbhajan Singh
Harbhajan Singh has opted out of the tournament citing personal reasons. He tweeted “I will not be playing IPL this year due to personal reasons. These are difficult times and I would expect some privacy as I spend time with my family. CSK management has been extremely supportive and I wish them a great IPL. Stay safe and Jai Hind.”

Chris Woakes
Chris Woakes has pulled out of this year’s IPL saying that he needed to focus on his national commitments. He said, “IPL is great but I have been there and done it. That’s not to say I don’t want to do it again, but at this moment England is the most important thing to me, as well as spending time at home with the family where I can.” Chris Woakes was bought by Delhi Capitals for Rs. 1.5 crore. Now Delhi Capitals has announced Anrich Nortjea as his replacement.

Lasith Malinga
Lasith Malinga who plays for Mumbai Indians and is IPL”s leading wicket taker has decided to stay out of the tournament citing personal reasons. Reports stated that he is spending time at home with his father, who is unwell.
