During the initial years of the sport, cricket was primarily played by the two nations of England and Australia. As decades have gone by, the popularity of the sport has spread all over the world.
Today, there are even cases. Where people have had to migrate from one country to another. Leading to a situation where people are born in one country. But end up playing professionally for another country.

- Dick Westcott: He represented The Proteas at the highest level, playing 5 test matches scoring 166 runs. This all, despite the fact that he hailed from Portugal, the nation famous for football and footballing legends. Most prominently, Cristiano Ronaldo and Louis Figo.
- Moises Henriques: Another cricket of Portugese origin. Henriques has represented Australia at the international level. Being deemed one of the brightest all-rounders. Injuries however, have forced him in and out of the national squad.
