FC Barcelona have reached an agreement to sign highly-rated Uruguayan left-back Patricio Pacifico from Defensor Sporting, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano’s trademark “Here We Go” confirmation.
The 19-year-old defender will join the Catalan giants on an initial loan deal that includes a €1.8 million purchase option, along with additional add-ons. The agreement also contains a clause that could become mandatory under certain conditions, signaling Barcelona’s long-term interest in the youngster’s development.
Pacifico is expected to begin his Barcelona journey with Barça Atlètic (Barcelona B) from January, where he will adapt to European football and the club’s tactical system before potentially making the step up to the first team. The move reflects Barcelona’s continued strategy of investing in young South American talents with high potential resale and sporting value.
Currently playing for Defensor Sporting in Uruguay, Pacifico has earned praise for his pace, defensive awareness, and ability to contribute in attack from the left flank.
