President of Russia Vladimir Putin offers free COVID-19 vaccines that are “safe, reliable and effective” to UN Staff.
During a prerecorded video for the General Assembly Meeting, UN, Putin said, “Anyone of us could face this dangerous virus. The virus has not spared the staff of the UN, its headquarters, and regional entities. The vaccine is safe, reliable, and effective.” However, some scientists are concerned about its widespread use due to the lack of evidence. Putin testified to its use and claimed that it has been tested on thousands of Russians including his daughter.
Putin also pointed out that some of his UN colleagues asked for SPUTNIK V. “We will not remain indifferent to them.”
Russians defend the vaccine as the “governments ensure access to a vaccine for their populations.”
