
Delhi, being the national capital, often gets hit by adverse circumstances apparently and that is what happening from the past few days– Covid-19 cases in the capital have been rising at a swift pace. On April 1, the total cases reported throughout the country were 81,466 with 10,498 active cases. Along with this, 9 deaths were also reported.
Meanwhile, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal held an emergency meeting today at his residence with Health Minister Satyendra Jain and other officials, keeping in view the rising cases in the national capital. The CM has called for this urgent meeting as the city had 2,790 active Covid cases which turn out to be the highest daily figure for the year 2021.

After the meeting, Delhi CM Kejriwal said, “In the last few days, Covid-19 cases in Delhi have been rising. 3583 new cases have been reported in Delhi in the last 24 hours. This rise in cases now is the fourth wave. We are taking all possible measures, there’s no need to worry,” as quoted by ANI.

Kejriwal also said that the government is focusing on the Covid-19 vaccination and 71,000 people were vaccinated in Delhi on April 1.
On Thursday, April 1, phase 3 of the vaccination drive has been commenced and people aged above 45 years are now eligible for getting the vaccine. According to certain estimations, the third phase will cover approximately 65 lakhs people in Delhi.
Well, as the cases are increasing at a fast pace, schools in Delhi have to remain closed till further orders, as mentioned by the Directorate of Education (DoE).
