‘Avoid over exertion’: Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya’s advice to severe Covid patients as heart attack cases increase

Union Health Minister Dr Mansukh Mandaviya has said that people who have suffered from severe Covid-19 infection should avoid doing hard work or strenuous exercise for some time.

Heart attack cases are continuously increasing in the country. In such a situation, Union Health Minister Dr Mansukh Mandaviya has said that people who have suffered from severe Covid-19 infection should avoid doing hard work or strenuous exercise for some time. Recently, heart-attack cases were reported in Bhavnagar, Gujarat during the Garba celebration.

On being asked about rising cases of heart-attacks, the Union Health Minister said: “ICMR has done a detailed study recently. The study says that those who have had severe covid and enough amount of time has not passed, should avoid overexertion, and overwork out, running or over-exercising for at least a year or two, to avoid heart attacks.”

The series of deaths due to heart attacks is not stopping in Gujarat. Young and middle-aged people are dying of heart attacks across the state. Especially in Saurashtra, the cases of heart attacks are increasing alarmingly, here youth are becoming the main victims of heart attacks. Recently, on October 22, a 17-year-old boy died of a sudden heart attack while playing Garba in Kapadwanj Kheda district.
