NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL) has officially declared the commercial operation of the fourth and final capacity of 18.32 MW from the 300 MW Shambu ki Burj-2 Solar PV Project located at Bikaner, Rajasthan. The project, developed under the CPSU Scheme Phase-II Tranche-I & II, became operational effective 00:00 hours on March 1, 2025.
The commissioning process of the project was executed in phases. The first capacity of 150 MW was made operational on September 29, 2022, followed by the second capacity of 98.78 MW on September 30, 2024, and the third capacity of 32.90 MW on October 31, 2024. With the latest development, the entire 300 MW project is now commercially operational.
The successful execution of this solar project aligns with NTPC Green Energy’s commitment to expanding renewable energy capacity and supporting India’s clean energy transition.
