Indian Railway sets up solar power plants to power trains. Also, Indian Railway sets up solar plants in Bina district of Madhya Pradesh. In order to operate trains. The trains will be powered by solar energy. Well India has played a pivotal role in operating trains through solar energy in the world.
India has set 1.7 Mega Watts solar power plant. The step was taken in order to reduce pollution.
The railways will comission Power Plant in next fifteen days. For now the project is under rigrous test. This will save Rs. 1.73 crore.
If all bodes well then India will be an inspiration to other countries in taking initiatives for sustainable development. The project is being implemented by Railways in the collaboration with BHEL( Bharat Heavy Electrical Limited) on the railways lines of Bina, Madhya Pradesh.
The project started in November last year. It got complete last month. The designing of the whole project in dome by BHEL. Now the project is under trials just to check falterings beforehand.
India has a set goal of transforming itslef into ‘Net Zero’ Carbon Emission. In Mass Transportation Network by 2020. However, this project was underlined by Railways. Also, that is the reason that India Railways is trying to establish Solar Power Plants. Moreover, on the lands which are laid vacant in order to become self- sufficient in production of energy.
This will not only help India to maintain environment. But will also reduce the cost of infrastructure as the energy can be directly pumped through Solar Plant.
