Bigbloc Construction to Expand Solar Rooftop Capacity by 2,150 KW Across Subsidiary and Joint Venture

Bigbloc Construction Limited announced a major green initiative, furthering its commitment to sustainability by installing additional solar rooftop power systems. The company’s material subsidiary, Starbigbloc Building Material Limited, will install an 800 KW solar rooftop project, while a 1,350 KW solar system will be added to the joint venture Siam Cement Bigbloc Construction Technologies Private Limited.

This expansion follows previous installations, including 700 KW at the Umargaon Plant and 625 KW at the Wada Plant. With the new orders, Bigbloc’s total solar capacity will reach approximately 3,475 KW across its facilities.

The solar projects are expected to reduce the company’s carbon footprint and generate significant operational cost savings. The installations are planned to be completed by the end of the financial year, March 31, 2025. The total investment for this expansion is approximately ₹7.23 crore, financed through term loans.

This initiative aligns with the company’s broader green energy strategy and reinforces its focus on reducing environmental impact while boosting energy efficiency.
