JEE Main: Students from flood-hit areas can apply to NTA for re-examination, says Bombay HC

The Nagpur bench of Bombay High Court refused to stay the JEE main examination but allowed students from flood-hit areas like Vidarbha who cannot reach the exam centres to apply to the National Testing Agency for re-examination on Tuesday.

“The situation is grim in several districts due to flood. Students should not suffer for no fault on their part,” the division bench of Justices Ravi Deshpande and Pushpa Ganediwala said.

The NTA is to consider such applications after reviewing the authenticity of the same, said the bench. Students can file an application via their centre coordinator and the NTA will be considering the application after discussing with the district collector within a period of 15 days.

The HC was listening to a petition filed by a student raising concern over reaching exam centres from flood-hit areas.
