Amidst growing concerns over holding NEET and JEE exams during the pandemic, students and alumni of various Indian Institute of Technology (IITs) have come up with a portal called ‘Eduride’ which would help candidates facing problems with transportation.
Commuting to the exam centres are a major cause of trouble for NEET and JEE aspirants as many of them have moved to different cities during the lockdown and hence are very far from the exam centres.
“During COVID-19 crisis, one of the major concerns amongst students is regarding the difficulty in reaching the exam centres. Students and alumni of IITs have promptly come forward and launched a dedicated portal to connect with good samaritans who may want to help the needy candidates,” said IIT Delhi Director V Ramgopal Rao.
The portal will connect appropriate combinations of volunteers and candidates through exchange of contact details by which the two can then coordinate to plan the travel to the examination centre.
Candidates can request ride to their respective exam centres by filling out necessary information in the ‘Student’ section on the official website of EduRide at eduride.in
