Silver prices remained elevated in Kolkata on Tuesday, January 27, tracking the broader strength seen in the domestic bullion market as global prices continued to hover near record levels.
According to the latest city-wise rates, silver in Kolkata is priced at Rs 3,700 per 10 grams, while 100 grams of silver costs Rs 37,000. On a per-kilogram basis, silver is trading at Rs 3,70,000 per kg in the city.
On a per-gram basis, silver prices in Kolkata stand at Rs 370 per gram, up by Rs 10 per gram compared with the previous trading session. The rise reflects continued momentum in silver prices, which have outpaced gold so far this year in percentage terms.
Silver’s strength is being supported by firm global cues, sustained safe-haven demand and its dual role as both a precious and industrial metal. Ongoing geopolitical uncertainty and expectations around global monetary policy have kept investor interest strong, feeding into higher domestic prices.
With silver trading close to record highs, buyers and traders in Kolkata are keeping a close watch on daily price movements, as bullion rates remain sensitive to developments in global markets and currency trends.
