Moving further south, gold rates stand at Rs. 7,347.8 per 10 grams in the metros of Chennai and Lucknow – the highest among major centres.

In the eastern region, the city of Kolkata is offering the best rate at Rs. 7,347.0 per 10 grams for 24 karat gold as of today.

The recent correction in domestic prices follows a subdued trend in the international bullion markets, where gold has been weighed down by a stronger US dollar and rising bond yields.

Note: The retail gold prices are derived from benchmark rates in major bullion markets, with factors like local taxes, making charges, and premiums by jewellers influencing the prices across different cities.

Industry experts suggest tracking retail rates closely, as gold prices often fluctuate based on global cues, currency movements, and demand-supply dynamics in the domestic market.
