The National Stock Exchange of India on Monday announced a trading holiday for the morning session in the commodity derivatives segment on January 15, 2026, citing the Municipal Corporation elections scheduled in Maharashtra.

In a circular issued by its Commodity Derivatives Department, the NSE said the exchange will remain closed for trading during the morning session on the said date. However, the evening trading session will be open as per normal timings.

According to the exchange, trading in the commodity derivatives segment on January 15 will be available during the evening session from 5:00 pm to 11:55 pm. The circular partially modifies an earlier notification issued in December 2025.

The exchange has advised all members to take note of the revised trading schedule and plan their operations accordingly.

The circular was issued under reference number NSE/COM/72263 and circular reference 03/2026, dated January 12, 2026, and was signed by Khushal Shah, Associate Vice President at NSE.
