Gold prices in Vadodara eased on Thursday, January 22, tracking the broader correction seen in domestic and global bullion markets after hitting record highs in the previous session.

As per the latest rates, 24-carat gold in Vadodara is priced at Rs 15,436 per gram, while 22-carat gold is trading at Rs 14,150 per gram. Meanwhile, 18-carat gold is available at Rs 11,578 per gram.

The decline in local prices comes after gold slipped from its record levels on the MCX, where the yellow metal had surged sharply amid heightened global uncertainty. Profit booking at elevated levels, along with a mild pullback in international spot prices, weighed on domestic rates.

Globally, gold saw some cooling after a strong rally driven by escalating geopolitical tensions involving the US, Europe, Greenland, and the Russia-Ukraine conflict, which had pushed investors toward safe-haven assets earlier this week.

Despite the day’s dip, gold prices remain significantly higher on a month-to-date basis, supported by persistent geopolitical risks and volatility in global currencies.
