Gold prices showed minor variations across major Indian cities on Friday, December 26, largely due to local taxes, logistics costs, and jeweller margins. While the overall trend remained firm, metro cities like Chennai and Delhi quoted slightly higher rates compared to others.

Why gold prices vary across cities

City-wise gold prices differ due to variations in local levies, transportation costs, demand patterns, and jeweller premiums. While international gold prices set the broader direction, domestic factors determine the final retail price in each city.

Note: City-wise gold rates are indicative and do not include GST, TCS, or making charges. Actual prices may vary across local jewellers.
