Agricultural commodities traded mixed globally in the latest session, with sharp losses seen in soft commodities such as coffee, cocoa and orange juice, while oilseeds and select livestock contracts showed relative stability.
Coffee prices witnessed the steepest decline, falling 4.50% to 294.00. The weakness was visible across timeframes, with coffee down 6.73% over the past week, 17.43% over one month and 25.40% over three months. Despite a marginal 0.29% gain over six months, coffee remains under significant pressure on a yearly basis, down 20.91%.
Cocoa prices also remained weak, slipping 0.67% to 4,154.00. The commodity has seen sustained losses, declining 2.60% over the past week, 21.80% over one month and 32.88% over three months. On a six-month basis, cocoa is down 45.74%, while year-on-year losses stand at 48.37%.
Orange juice futures declined 2.66% to 155.40, extending a sharp downtrend. The contract is down 8.62% over the past week, 24.49% over one month and 16.00% over three months, while six-month losses stand at 29.83%.
In grains, corn was flat at 428.50, while wheat slipped 0.24% to 527.00. Milling wheat fell 0.53% to 189.25, with declines visible across weekly, monthly and quarterly periods. Oats traded marginally higher at 298.75 but remained lower over one-, three- and six-month horizons. Rough rice rose 0.45% to 11.235, showing gains of 9.18% over one month and 5.00% over three months despite longer-term weakness.
The soy complex showed mixed trends. Soybeans rose 0.16% to 1,111.50, posting gains of 4.59% over one month and 8.76% over six months. Soybean meal edged up 0.13% to 298.00, while soybean oil slipped marginally by 0.07% to 56.70 but remained strong over one-, three- and six-month periods.
Overall, agricultural markets remain uneven, with soft commodities under sustained selling pressure, grains trading mixed, and oilseeds showing selective resilience.
