Agriculture commodity markets showed mixed trends on Tuesday, January 20, with prices of key commodities such as coffee, cocoa, orange juice, sugar and soy-related products moving in different directions across global exchanges.

Coffee prices traded lower on the day, slipping 1.03% to 355.10, although the commodity remains up 4.07% over the past one month and has gained over 25% on a yearly basis. Corn prices declined 0.53% to 422.75, extending losses seen over the past six months and one year.

Cocoa prices rose 2.19% to 5,088, despite remaining under pressure over longer periods, with declines of over 25% in six months and 38% over one year. Cotton prices remained flat at 64.62, while continuing to show weakness on longer-term performance metrics.

In the livestock segment, feeder cattle dropped 2.31%, while lean hogs edged up 0.63%, extending gains seen across weekly, monthly and yearly timeframes. Live cattle declined 1.69% during the session.

Among soft commodities, orange juice emerged as a strong gainer, rising 5.09% on the day and posting double-digit gains over one and three months, even as six-month performance remains weak. Sugar prices climbed 2.74% to 14.99, though the commodity continues to trade lower on a six-month and one-year basis.

In oilseeds, soybeans slipped 0.12%, while soybean oil gained 0.36%, supported by nearly 9% gains over one month. Soybean meal moved marginally higher by 0.17%. Wheat prices fell 0.63%, with declines visible across medium- and long-term periods.

Overall, agriculture commodities presented a mixed picture on January 20, reflecting varying demand-supply dynamics and recent volatility across global agri-markets.
