Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Airport has is among the first airports in Asia Pacific region to have received the Airport Health Accreditation by the Airport Council International (ACI). The ACI is a worldwide association for air transport industry.
According to the release, the ACI assessment covered the various health and safety measures that were followed by the staff of Rajiv Gandhi airport for passengers and staff in all the terminals like arrivals, departures, transportation services and food services. Areas like lounge, elevators and escalators were also covered.
Last month the airport handled over 16,000 domestic passengers and provided the best safety measures and contactless travel.
The release further added that the airport has regained 50 of its domestic destinations out of 55 pre-COVID-19 destinations.
A GMR release stated that this accreditation is the outcome of the rigorous assessment of the RGIA on the alignment of its health measures with the ACI Aviation Business Restart Recovery guidelines and the International Civil Aviation Organisation and the Council Aviation Recovery Task Force.
