IndiGo has issued a travel advisory after dense fog and extremely low visibility conditions severely disrupted flight operations at Delhi airport and several other airports across northern India. The airline confirmed that visibility dropped below prescribed safety minima, leading to delays and selective cancellations throughout the day.
In a statement, an IndiGo spokesperson said that the weather conditions are beyond the airline’s control and have had a significant impact on scheduled operations. The airline’s ground and flight teams are closely monitoring the situation and coordinating continuously with Delhi airport authorities, while strictly following established safety protocols.
As weather conditions fluctuate, IndiGo said some flights may experience delays, while a few services could be proactively cancelled to prioritise passenger safety and reduce prolonged waiting times at airports. The airline added that such measures are being taken to minimise inconvenience for travellers amid the challenging conditions.
IndiGo has already issued advisories to passengers and is proactively informing customers about changes to their flight schedules. Travellers have been requested to regularly check their flight status through the airline’s official website or mobile application, as consequential delays may continue due to the ongoing fog situation.
The airline assured passengers that its customer service teams remain available at airports and through digital channels to assist at every stage of the journey. IndiGo reiterated its commitment to ensuring passenger safety while providing continued support during weather-related disruptions.
