TN gets first electric rickshaw from Piaggio

Piaggio Vehicles Private Ltd (PVPL) launched the all-new passenger 3-wheeler EV, Apé E-city FX NE Max in Tamil Nadu.

Chennai, Oct 26 : Piaggio Vehicles Private Ltd (PVPL), a 100% subsidiary of the Italian auto giant Piaggio Group and India’s leading manufacturer of small commercial vehicles, on Thursday launched the all-new passenger 3-wheeler EV, Apé E-city FX NE Max in Tamil Nadu.

The Apé E-city FX NE Max is the first Piaggio 3-wheeler passenger EV to receive approval from the state transport authority in Tamil Nadu, making it a category entrant for the market.

The new vehicle was unveiled by Mr Diego Graffi, Chairman and MD, and Mr. Amit Sagar, EVP – Commercial Vehicles, Piaggio Vehicles Pvt Ltd, a company release said.

As pioneers of India’s 3W EV revolution, Piaggio Vehicles has yet again taken steps to revolutionize Tamil Nadu’s EV landscape by introducing the city’s first 3W Passenger vehicle EV – Apé E-city FX NE Max. This vehicle promises to transform last-mile passenger transportation while prioritizing sustainability, earnability, higher driving range, and cost-effectiveness. This EV is fully assembled by an all-women team at Piaggio’s Baramati factory.
