Royal Enfield, the iconic Indian motorcycle brand, is set to unveil its first-ever electric motorcycle at the EICMA 2024 tomorrow, November 4. The upcoming electric motorcycle is not just a new chapter for the brand but also a potential game-changer in the electric two-wheeler market.
Royal Enfield has taken inspiration from its own rich history for the design and name of its first electric motorcycle. The teasers suggest the new model may be named “Flying Flea,” a tribute to the lightweight motorcycle Royal Enfield produced during World War II.
Here’s what to expect in the Royal Enfield electric motorcycle
While the new electric motorcycle is expected to take design cues from Royal Enfield’s popular Classic range, the production model is anticipated to have a unique design language that will change how people view the brand.
Based on spy shots and teasers, the electric motorcycle will feature classic Royal Enfield aesthetics but with modern elements. These include a circular LED headlamp, LED turn indicators, and adjustable brake levers, alongside other retro-inspired features. Notably, the motorcycle is also expected to come with a TFT instrument cluster, a feature seen in newer models like the Guerrilla 450 and Himalayan 450.
Though specific details about the electric motorcycle’s range, battery capacity, and powertrain have not been officially disclosed, the design hints at a lightweight, slim and agile structure, likely optimized for city riding.
