Ola Electric begins production of Roadster Motorcycles; CEO shares glimpse from Ola Futurefactory

Ola Electric has officially commenced production of its highly anticipated Roadster series of electric motorcycles at the Ola Futurefactory, as announced by CEO Bhavish Aggarwal. The company marked a significant milestone today with the first units of the Roadster series rolling off the assembly line.

  1. Models and Pricing:
    • Roadster: Starting at Rs 74,999.
    • Roadster X: Starting at Rs 1,04,999.
    • Roadster Pro: Starting at Rs 1,99,999.
  2. Performance Specifications:
    • Roadster X: Marketed as the fastest in its category, available in 2.5 kWh, 3.5 kWh, and 4.5 kWh variants.
    • Roadster: Equipped with a 13 kW motor, aimed at commuter users with multiple battery options.
    • Roadster Pro: Features a 52 kW motor with 105 Nm of torque, accelerating from:
      • 0-40 kmph in 1.2 seconds.
      • 0-60 kmph in 1.9 seconds.
      • Top speed of 194 kmph.
  3. Battery Warranty:
    • An eight-year battery warranty will be provided on all models, ensuring long-term reliability.
  4. Integration with Bharat 4680 Cells:
    • Ola plans to incorporate Bharat 4680 cells, currently in trial production at its Gigafactory, starting from Q1 FY26.
  5. Charging Network:
    • Customers will have access to Ola’s extensive existing charging network for enhanced convenience.

Background:

The Roadster series was unveiled at Ola’s annual flagship event, Sankalp 2024, held in August last year. The lineup includes models tailored for a range of users, from commuters to high-performance enthusiasts, reflecting Ola’s ambition to revolutionize the electric two-wheeler market in India.

With production now underway, the company is set to disrupt the electric motorcycle segment and expand its footprint in sustainable mobility solutions.
