Mercedes-Benz is all set to unveil the EQS 450 SUV with EQ technology on January 9, 2024. Notably, India will be the first market outside the US to assemble the EQS SUV as a CKD (completely knocked down) offering, showcasing the brand’s commitment to the country.
EQS 450 SUV: Performance and Features
The EQS 450 will be the second variant in the EQS SUV lineup (excluding the Maybach) and will feature a 5-seater configuration. Powered by a robust 122kWh battery pack, the SUV delivers 544hp and 858Nm of torque, similar to the EQS 580 4Matic. It claims to be India’s largest passenger EV battery, with the ability to charge from 10 to 80% in just 31 minutes using a 200kW DC charger. In comparison, the EQA and EQE SUVs come with 70.5kWh and 90.5kWh batteries, respectively.
Exterior and Interior Design
The EQS 450 SUV retains the sleek, aerodynamic design of the EQS 580 but with a refreshed look. It features a blanked-off grille, LED headlamps, and a distinctive light bar across the front bumper. The 21-inch alloy wheels add to its modern appeal.
Inside, the SUV boasts premium features like crafted seat covers and the innovative Energising Air Control Plus. The 56-inch Hyperscreen setup, including a 12.3-inch instrument cluster, a 17.7-inch infotainment screen, and an 11.6-inch rear entertainment display, offers cutting-edge technology. A 5-speaker Burmester audio system, 360-degree camera, and 5-zone climate control add to the luxury experience. Safety features include Level 2 ADAS, 9 airbags, and more.
