Mercedes-Benz India recently introduced the new-gen GLC 43 AMG Coupe 4MATIC luxury SUV, costing ₹1.10 crore (ex-showroom, India). Following the arrival of the new-generation GLC SUV in 2023, the Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 Coupe 4MATIC takes on a completely new look.
While the previous version GLC 43 AMG Coupe had a V6, the new model has a downsized powertrain that offers greater power and better efficiency.
The two-year wait for the GLC 43 AMG Coupe is over as it returns to India. The Panamericana grille, the AMG-spec alloy wheels and the stronger bumpers with bigger air intakes all highlight the overall AMG design.
The new GLC 43 AMG Coupe is powered by a 2.0-litre inline four-cylinder turbo petrol engine hand-built in Affalterbach. The new powertrain includes an electric gas exhaust turbocharger, a technology derived from Formula One vehicles, as well as a 48-volt mild-hybrid system. Compared to its predecessor, which used a 3.0-litre V6, the new and smaller engine produces 415 bhp and 500 Nm of maximum torque. With a 20 Nm decrease in torque, that is 33 bhp more than its predecessor. The engine is mated with a 9-speed AMG Multi-clutch gearbox that delivers power to all four wheels.
The performance coupe SUV is capable of reaching 100 kilometres per hour in 4.8 seconds. In addition, the vehicle has an adjustable suspension system, three-stage AMG steering and numerous driving modes.
