Maruti Suzuki India Limited reported its highest-ever monthly sales volume in January 2026, with total sales standing at 236,963 units. The performance was driven by steady domestic demand and a sharp rise in exports, which touched an all-time monthly high during the period.

According to the company’s sales data, domestic sales in January 2026 amounted to 178,300 units. This included passenger vehicles, light commercial vehicles, and sales to other original equipment manufacturers. In addition, exports reached 51,020 units, marking the strongest monthly export performance for the automaker so far.

Passenger vehicle sales within the domestic market remained largely stable on a year-on-year basis. Total domestic passenger vehicle sales stood at 174,529 units in January 2026 compared with 173,599 units in January 2025. Within this, the Mini and Compact segment together recorded 87,006 units, lower than the 96,488 units sold in the same month last year. Models in the Compact category such as Baleno, Swift, Dzire and WagonR saw relatively softer volumes, while the Mini segment remained broadly flat.

The Utility Vehicle segment continued to show resilience. Sales of models including Brezza, Ertiga, Fronx, Grand Vitara, Jimny and XL6 rose to 75,609 units in January 2026, up from 65,093 units a year ago. Vans, led by the Eeco, recorded sales of 11,914 units, marginally higher than the previous year.

Light commercial vehicle sales, primarily from the Super Carry, stood at 3,771 units, slightly lower than January 2025. Sales to other OEMs came in at 7,643 units, broadly in line with last year’s levels.

Exports emerged as a key contributor to overall growth. Export volumes jumped sharply from 27,100 units in January 2025 to 51,020 units in January 2026, reflecting stronger overseas demand and expanded international distribution.

For the April–January period of FY 2025–26, total sales reached 1,983,467 units, compared with 1,841,882 units in the corresponding period of the previous financial year. Domestic sales for the period stood at 1,621,888 units, while exports rose to 361,579 units.
