Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (M&M Ltd.), one of India’s top automotive manufacturers, has reported impressive sales for March 2025, with a total of 83,894 vehicles sold, marking a 23% year-on-year growth. This growth includes both domestic and export markets.
In the Utility Vehicles (UV) segment, M&M saw a notable increase of 18%, selling 48,048 vehicles in the domestic market. This brings the overall sales of UVs, including exports, to 50,835 units. The Commercial Vehicles segment also performed strongly, with March domestic sales reaching 23,951 units.
Notably, M&M concluded the fiscal year with a landmark achievement of 551,487 SUVs sold, reflecting a 20% growth over the previous year, marking the highest SUV sales in the company’s history. The company also reported a 20% increase in Vahan registrations for the period from April 1, 2024, to March 31, 2025, maintaining dealer inventory levels within target norms.
Other key milestones for the year include M&M’s position as the No. 1 SUV player and the No. 2 passenger vehicle manufacturer by revenue. The company also gained a 50% market share in the LCV < 3.5T category and expanded its international presence by 41% year-on-year. In addition, Mahindra became the only Indian automotive company to secure DJSI Index world leader status.
Exports also saw a significant boost, with M&M recording a 163% growth in March 2025, totaling 4,143 units.
Veejay Nakra, President of the Automotive Division at M&M, expressed confidence in the company’s future, highlighting the strong demand for its electric models, including the Electric Origin SUV.
