The Mahindra Thar Roxx debuted in mid-August and rapidly drew much attention, with 1.76 lakh units booked within one hour of its launch. The automaker is now ready to start deliveries across the country. The 5-door off-roader is priced between Rs 12.99 lakh and Rs 22.49 lakh (introductory, ex-showroom), and it comes with both rear-wheel and four-wheel drivetrains.
Thar Roxx maintains the classic boxy design and adds a new 6-slat grille and C-shaped LED DRLs with LED headlights. Aside from the extra set of doors, the dual-tone 19-inch alloy wheels on the sides grab your attention right away.
Features-wise, Thar Roxx is equipped with two 10.25-inch screens—one for the touchscreen infotainment system and the other for the digital driver’s display—wireless connectivity for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, ventilated front seats, automatic climate control with rear AC vents, Harmon Kardon audio system, a wireless phone charger and push-button start/stop.
It has six airbags as standard, a 360-degree camera, an electronic stability control system (ESC), a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS) and Level 2 ADAS (advanced driver aid systems) features including adaptive cruise control and lane keep assist.
Mahindra has two engine options for the Thar Roxx: a two-litre turbo-petrol and a two-litre diesel. Both are available in manual and automatic transmissions with different states of tunes.
