Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. has announced a landmark international order that will significantly strengthen its global footprint. The company will supply 35,000 units of its popular Scorpio Pik Up vehicles in 2026 to Agrinas Pangan Nusantara, an Indonesian state-owned enterprise, as part of the ambitious Koperasi Desa/Kelurahan Merah Putih (KDKMP) project.
The large-scale deployment of Mahindra Scorpio Pik Ups is aimed at transforming rural logistics in Indonesia by supporting cooperatives, known locally as Koperasi. These vehicles will play a central role in improving the movement of agricultural produce, helping farmers transport fresh supplies efficiently from farms to cooperatives and onward to markets. By strengthening last-mile and intra-village connectivity, the initiative seeks to bridge the gap between producers and consumers across the country.
Under the partnership, Mahindra and Agrinas Pangan Nusantara will work closely to equip Koperasi with durable and reliable mobility solutions. The focus is on creating a robust logistics backbone that can operate seamlessly across challenging rural terrains, including farm tracks and rough village roads. This effort is expected to support Indonesia’s broader goal of turning villages into self-sustaining centres of economic growth.
Commenting on the development, Nalinikanth Gollagunta, CEO of the Automotive Division at Mahindra & Mahindra, highlighted that the volume committed under this agreement could be as large as the company’s total export volumes achieved in FY25. The deal is therefore expected to provide a substantial boost to Mahindra’s international operations while reinforcing its long-term commitment to emerging markets.
Manufactured at Mahindra’s Nashik plant in India, the Scorpio Pik Up is globally recognised for its strong build quality, high payload capacity, and low operating costs. These attributes make it particularly suitable for agricultural and rural logistics, where vehicles are required to operate reliably under demanding conditions while remaining economical for daily use.
