KIA EV9 GT to debut in January 2025; Everything you need to know about the high-performance electric SUV

Kia has been working on a more powerful version of its advanced electric SUV, the EV9, which will carry the GT badge. According to Hyundai, the Kia EV9 GT will launch in January next year. The OEM also states that the EV9 GT will have a more powerful performance than the standard version of the electric SUV.

Kia promises its EV9 GT will break cover with massive power from an upgraded dual-motor system. The Kia EV9 GT is said to accelerate from 0 to 100 kilometres per hour in less than four seconds, which is amazing given the SUV’s huge size and weight of approximately 2,721 kilograms. The forthcoming Kia EV9 GT is expected to receive a significant power bump over the SUV’s most powerful edition, which produced 373 bhp peak power and 701 Nm of maximum torque.

It’s unclear if Kia plans to modify the EV9 GT’s battery chemistry. If not, the car’s range is anticipated to take a hit. Usually, this occurs when an electric vehicle receives a performance boost at the expense of efficiency.

The Kia EV9 GT-Line now promises a range of 434 kilometres on a single charge. Kia has confirmed that the forthcoming EV9 GT will include a beefier suspension setup and upgraded brakes to accompany the performance upgrade.
