Jaguar has revealed its first new-generation electric vehicle, the Type 00 GT, at Miami Art Week 2024. This bold concept marks the brand’s commitment to electric mobility, with the production version set for release by 2026.
The Jaguar Type 00 showcases a striking, polarizing design. The car features a boxy structure with traditional GT proportions—an extended bonnet and a coupe-style rear. The front grille stands upright, enhancing its bold look, while sleek, angular lights provide a modern touch. A key design choice is the absence of rear glass, with centrally positioned taillamps.
Inside, the cabin exudes minimalism. The driver and passenger sections are separated by a raised center console. The interior is equipped with two large fold-away displays, and Jaguar offers a personalized in-car experience through three unique ‘totems’—Brass, Travertine, and Alabaster. These allow users to customize screen graphics, ambient lighting, and other features.
Though Jaguar has not disclosed full details about the Type 00’s battery or other specifications, it promises an impressive 770 km range on a single charge. With a fast charger, the vehicle can gain 321 km of range in just 10 minutes. Built on the JEA platform, the Type 00 will serve as the foundation for all future Jaguar electric vehicles.
The Jaguar Type 00 GT signals a new era for the brand, combining futuristic design with cutting-edge EV technology. Set to enter production soon, this vehicle will redefine the luxury electric vehicle market, catering to eco-conscious consumers seeking both performance and style.
