Eicher Motors’ VE Commercial Vehicles reports 9% YoY growth in February 2025

Eicher Motors Ltd’s subsidiary, VE Commercial Vehicles Ltd (VECV), has reported a solid growth trajectory in its February 2025 sales figures. With a total of 8,092 units sold in February 2025, the company recorded a 9.0% year-over-year (YoY) increase compared to 7,424 units in February 2024. The year-to-date (YTD) sales for 2024-25 also showed a 5.0% growth, reaching 78,067 units, up from 74,318 in 2023-24.

Domestic Market Performance

Eicher’s trucks and buses segment saw a 6.2% YoY rise in domestic sales, delivering 7,357 units in February 2025 compared to 6,930 units in February 2024. YTD domestic sales stood at 71,356 units, marking a 3.7% growth from 68,842 units in the previous fiscal year.

  • Light and Medium Duty (LMD) Trucks (3.5-18.5T):
    • February 2025: 3,500 units (+6.9% YoY)
    • YTD 2024-25: 35,511 units (flat YoY)
  • Heavy-Duty (HD) Trucks (≥18.5T):
    • February 2025: 1,679 units (-9.8% YoY)
    • YTD 2024-25: 18,958 units (+2.1% YoY)
  • LMD Bus:
    • February 2025: 1,951 units (+18.3% YoY)
    • YTD 2024-25: 14,974 units (+15.2% YoY)
  • HD Bus:
    • February 2025: 227 units (+55.5% YoY)
    • YTD 2024-25: 1,913 units (+9.1% YoY)

Exports Surge in February 2025

Eicher’s export segment recorded an impressive 74.7% YoY growth, selling 552 units in February 2025 compared to 316 units in February 2024. YTD exports grew by 38.5%, with 4,516 units sold in 2024-25 versus 3,260 in 2023-24.

  • LMD Exports: +62.8% YoY (298 units in February 2025)
  • HD Exports: -53.3% YoY (14 units in February 2025)
  • Bus Exports: +133.0% YoY (240 units in February 2025)

Volvo Trucks & Buses Performance

VECV’s Volvo Trucks and Buses division maintained stability, with 183 units sold in February 2025, reflecting a 2.8% YoY growth. However, YTD sales dipped slightly by 0.9%, totaling 2,195 units compared to 2,216 units in 2023-24.
