Moreover, it marks her iconic reign of 70 years as the monarch, head of state and the sovereign Queen of Great Britain and its commonwealth.
This makes Her Majesty the Longest-Reigning British Monarch after she had overcome Queen Victoria. Who had ruled from 1837 to 1901 for nearly 63 years. This title has been taken by two other monarchs before Her Majesty. One of them was King Bhumibol Adulyadej, also known as Bhumibol the Great and Rama IX, who ruled Thailand for more than 70 years until his death in 2016.
